LELIANA'S SONG

During Leliana's time with Marjolaine, she met Tug and Sketch and the trio travelled all over Thedas causing trouble
for wealthy nobles.

Accompanying her bardmaster, Marjolaine on a high risk mission from Orlais to Ferelden, Leliana and her fellow agents Tug
(a dwarven warrior) and Sketch (an elven apostate) create chaos in the Denerim Market District and settle a few debts.
Orlesian Intrigue known as The Game, the trio steal goods from several stalls in the market and planting them within other stalls
to cause scandal the next day. They also attack Bann Perrin for his disrespect for an Orlesian Noble. They simply knock him unconscious
leaving him to be found in an embarrassing situation with vulgar and wholesome set of suspect under things.

Jovi Merice was another one of their targets. His accusations had damaged quite a few noble house reputations and he fled Orlais to
Ferelden seeking asylum. Some of the more aggravated nobles hired Marjolaine to seek him out and teach him a lesson as warning to
others. She passes the job onto Leliana and her companions who are forced to kill him due to his refusal to cooperate. They had two options
to dispose of his body, either throw him down the Chantry well or plant his body on the omatose Guard Captain Eams. Leliana decided to
go with framing the Guard Captain knowing it would impress and please her bardmaster. Guard Captain Eams was a personal quest of
Marjolaine's after he managed to anger her. Marjolaine made sure the use of magic kept him comatose long enough outside the local
busy Tavern apparently drunk on the job. Leliana at first wasn't sure if she should get involved in Marjolaine's personal
business but made the decision to do so anyway.



It appeared to be the right decision as not long after Marjolaine made her appearance to show her appreciation.

Their night however wasn't over with, Marjolaine has yet another task for them. Handing Leliana sealed documents she
tells her they must be planted in the Arl of Denerim's Estate. An easy enough task for the skilled young bard and her
companions. Successful in breaking in, Leliana spots Marjolaine fraternizing with Ferelden Commander Harwen Raleigh.
It's clear on Leliana's face she hadn't yet mastered masking her jealousy, however they press on with their mission.
As they place the sealed documents in the Arls room for servants to find, Leliana noticed the Orlesian Military
seals and right away recognises it as treason but before she could question Marjolaine who re appeared they
were forced to flee before the guards found them.



Back at Marjolaine's safehouse, Leliana discusses with Tug and Sketch about approaching Marjolaine with her concerns regarding
the seals. They opt to stay out of it, fearing Marjolaine. Leliana however decided to approach Marjolaine with her concerns.
Persuaded by Leliana's distress and fears for her, Marjolaine agrees to let Leliana and her companions go back and retrieve
the documents.

After Leliana and her companions teal the documents back, they manage to escape to their meeting place arranged with Marjolaine
but Sketch and Tug are taken by surprise by guards and Leliana is betrayed by her love, her bardmaster, who stabbed her and left her
to the mercy of Commander Raleigh, who has no love for Orlais.



For days Leliana is left to the torture and terrible abuse at the hands of Raleigh and his men in the Arl of Denerim's Dungeons.
Laying on the floor of a cold dank cell, a broken young woman, a mysterious voice rouses her from her despair and urges her to
keep fighting and to let the need of those who cannot fight be her strength. Reluctantly, Leliana gathers what little strength
she has left through her injuries and retrieves the items left for her and begins searching for her companions.

She finds her friend Sketch in a cell with a Ferelden named Silas Corthwaite but is too late to save Tug, who had been slain by Raleigh's
men while trying to protect Sketch. Leliana, with a heavy heart, continues on with Sketch and Silas to escape the dungeon, freeing
innocents from their torture chambers on her way.



Exhausted and injured, Leliana and her companions finally escape and are taken in at the local Chantry, led by Revered Mother, Dorothea.
The Revered Mother informs the grieving and angry Leliana that Marjolaine seduced her and stole the documents from her. The documents
detailed Orlesian troop movements, information that could start another war between Ferelden and Orlais. Feeling guilt for indirectly
leading to Leliana's capture and torture, the Revered Mother aids Leliana.



As Marjolaine attempts to flee the country with Commander Raleigh's help, Leliana, Sketch and Silas Corthwaite (who became a warrior of
conscience for the Chantry) track them down to a remote location on Ferelden's shores. After many battles with Raleigh's men and taunts from
the man himself and her former bardmaster, Leliana eventually corners them on the Blighted Cliffs. A battle with Commander Raleigh takes place
ending with his death leaving Marjolaine to come face to face with Leliana on the edge of the cliff.
